Leadership

As business leaders, we are motivated to achieve the profitability of the enterprise. We are challenged by the civic responsibility to help build the nation and to be both innovative and responsive to the social and economic development needs of the motherland. Corporate Citizenship through fair business practices and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) are therefore essential tenets to which our team subscribe.

The basic principles of partnership, collaboration, and team are fundamental to the strategy of the collective effort driven by our business preposition to deliver profits while contributing to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). We build networks of relationships with Guyanese across the world and channel their inherent commitment, energies, and professionalism to the homeland to build capacity and to encourage investment through engagement in business.

We are leading change during a period of great uncertainties, but it is also a period of great opportunities. To be ahead of the curve, we must make full use of business intelligence and make data driven decisions. We must be vested in the future of our country. To do so, we must abandon much of the old ways of doing business and redefine our relationships with our customers and the communities we serve. As leaders, we take personal responsibility and ownership for the delivery of excellence. Someone once said in a speech that we cannot turn around a destroyer by deploying a speed boat. In this undertaking, there must be a convergence of systems, human and material resources within time frames that add value exponentially. There must be synergy where all moving parts are in sync to help fulfill the common purpose. We must, by example, demand and inspire trust and confidence in our customers, policymakers, investors, and the communities that we serve; excellence is the mark of ODC leadership.
